Simple Staking

The simplest way to stake with StakeWise is through the StakeWise App ↗ — deposit any amount of ETH and stake it in a single click. Your assets are routed through a MetaVault that distributes them across the best-performing sub-vaults. Today that chain resolves to the Genesis Vault ↗, with more sub-vaults to come.

When staking, you'll automatically receive osETH, which represents your staked assets plus accumulated rewards. osETH can be used across DeFi to boost your yield ↗.

How to Stake

Stake your ETH and start earning rewards immediately.

  1. Open app.stakewise.io ↗ and connect your wallet.
  2. Select the Stake tab and enter the amount of ETH you want to stake.
  3. Choose what happens to the stake:
    • Stake only — your ETH is staked and no osETH is minted.
    • Receive osETH — osETH is minted against your stake. This is the default.
    • Receive and boost osETH — the newly minted osETH is locked as Boost collateral in the same transaction. Available from 0.05 ETH.
  4. Review the details.
  5. Click Stake and confirm the transaction in your wallet.
  6. Once confirmed, your stake immediately starts earning rewards. Unless you chose Stake only, osETH appears in your wallet.
Track Your Position Anytime

In the Balance tab you can view your total staked amount and your APY. If you have an active Boost position, the APY figure reflects it.

Boost

Once you have osETH in your wallet, you can optionally Boost your position to amplify your staking yield. Boost uses your osETH as collateral on Aave to borrow ETH, which is then restaked automatically.

How to Unstake

Unstaking is just as simple — convert your osETH back to ETH directly in the StakeWise App whenever you want.

osETH can only be minted or burned — staking mints new osETH, and unstaking burns it to release the underlying ETH. osETH bought on a DEX isn't tied to any staking position, so it won't appear in the Unstake tab. To convert market-bought osETH back to ETH, swap it on the Swap page ↗ of the StakeWise App or sell it on a DEX.

Before unstaking, make sure the amount of osETH you want to unstake is in your wallet. If you have an active Boost position, switch to the Unboost tab and exit it first.

  1. Open app.stakewise.io ↗ and connect your wallet.
  2. Select the Unstake tab and enter the amount of osETH you want to convert back to ETH.
  3. Review the details.
  4. Click Unstake and confirm the transaction in your wallet.
  5. Your request enters the Vault's exit queue. The app shows a live estimate of how long it will take, along with the average over the past month — how long it actually takes depends on the network's validator exit queue. Your assets keep earning rewards until the exit completes.
  6. Once the request is processed, click Claim and confirm the transaction to receive your ETH (original stake plus accumulated rewards).
Get a Claim Alert

You can set up an email or browser notification to be alerted as soon as your unstaked assets are ready to be claimed. Click your wallet address in the top-right corner, then click the alert button alert button icon next to your address. In the Configure alerts pop-up, enter your email and click Save, or enable browser notifications.
